IEDAction Mission Statement

International Eating Disorder Action is a coalition of carers, parents, survivors, sufferers, and other citizens with an interest in advocacy and ACTION around issues relating to Eating Disorders. Actions and advocacy efforts are undertaken with the following goals: to increase societal awareness and knowledge of EDs as treatable, biological, brain-based illnesses, to fight for regulation of groups with no medical credentials advising those with eating disorders; to broadly and internationally increase access to early diagnosis and aggressive evidence-based treatment, and to work toward research funding parity. We take NO funding and are 100% volunteer-run and independent from influence of any treatment providers/centers.Alongside initiating actions, we communicate and engage with other groups to join forces on advocacy movements.
